Woodridge State High School has an assessment policy that applies to all of our students and staff and is intended to provide clear and consistent guidelines regarding assessment.  It aims to ensure the application of policies and procedures that are fair and equitable to all students from Year 7 to 12, including those recommended and mandatory by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA).

You may download the entire policy from the Related Documents section on the right. Additionally, you will find our Short and Long Term Access Arrangements and Reasonable Adjustment (AARA) Application Forms, students are required to complete, with supporting documentation, if they are sick, injured or have ongoing requirements for reasonable adjustments.

All assessment dates are distributed to students via email – year 7-9 at the beginning of each semester and year 10-12 at the beginning of each year – via email and uploaded onto student SharePoint. They will also be available on the school website and via our school community newsletter for parents to access.

Assessment Calendars

It is the student's responsibility to ensure all assessment tasks are submitted by the due date.

Students are prepared in class for all testing and assessment. Regular feedback is provided in various formats to assist students with understanding the assessment task requirements, including feedback on their draft submissions to support their understanding of ways they can improve prior to the final due date.

Our assessment calendars support students to manage their school workload, and allow parents to be aware of their student's due dates.

Please note - Where there is more than one class of a subject, assessment deadlines may be scheduled at different days of that assessment week, depending on the day of individual classe.

Types of Testing

NAPLAN

Students in years 7 and 9 undertake NAPLAN testing each year. These are now conducted via computer, which students are expected to have and in line with our BYOD expectations.

Cohort Mapping

Students in year 7-10 may complete cohort mapping, to provide staff with further information to inform our teaching practice, next steps and identifying students that may require further support in the area of literacy.
