Woodridge State High School offers two (2) types of scholarships:
1. Woodridge Wolves Transition Scholarship (Year 7 students only)
2. Woodridge Wolves Next Steps Scholarship (Year 8-12)

The Transition Scholarship is designed to support Year 7 students who demonstrate potential in thefields such as:
- Leadership
- Academic achievement
- The Arts
- Sport (including Esports)
The scholarship aims to assist students in their transition to high school and foster development in their chosen area of excellence. Applications are open to any current Year 4, 5 or 6 students who intend on enrolling at Woodridge State High School for year 7.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be enrolled to attend Woodridge State High School for year 7, however if you receive a scholarship but do not proceed to be enrolled at Woodridge State High School, the scholarship offer will be revoked.
- Proven involvement/ability and experience in chosen field(s) of excellence.
- Sound behaviour and attendance record.
- Comprehensive application with supporting documentation.
Inclusions
This scholarship is valued at between $250 - $500 and for a period of one year only, while the student is in year seven (7).
The scholarship may be used for a range of items, such as:
- School resource scheme fees
- Excursions, competition fees, travel expenses
- Camps
- Uniforms
- Computer devices
- Or other resources to assist with learning, up to the value of the scholarship and as discussed and approved by the Scholarships Committee prior.
Scholarship Conditions
General scholarship conditions for all recipients:
- Student maintains an average of over 95% for approved and explained attendance, including arriving at school on time.
- The correct school uniform is worn or attended to by the student as per the school’s uniform policy, over 95% of the time.
- Student performance will be monitored and reassessed throughout the year.
- Effort and Behaviour grades are maintained at an average of 3.5.
- Parent/Carer of scholarship recipients commit to their child’s attendance at activities to support the broad range of opportunities offered by the school.
- Other conditions will be outlined in the notification letter, depending on the area the scholarship is focused.
Woodridge Wolves Next Steps Scholarship (Year 8-12)
The Next Steps Scholarships are for students who will be in Years 8–12 during the year the scholarship is awarded. They are awarded to those who demonstrate excellence in one of the following areas:
1.Leadership
2.Academic achievement
3.The Arts
4.Sport (including Esports)
This scholarship aims to foster students chosen next steps and ongoing development in their area of focus.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be enrolled or in the process of enrolling to attend Woodridge State High School, however if you receive a scholarship but cease to be enrolled at Woodridge State High School, the scholarship will also cease on the same date.
- Proven involvement/ability and experience in chosen field(s) of excellence.
- Sound behaviour and attendance record.
- Comprehensive application with supporting documentation.
Leadership Scholarships are awarded based on:
- A strong demonstration of attendance, effort and behaviour records, as evidenced by awards, reports cards and recommendations.
- A display of outstanding commitment to and involvement in Student Voice and/or leadership positions, at school and/or leadership positions within the community.
Academic Scholarships are awarded based on:
- A demonstrated strong academic record across a range of subjects, as evidenced by records such as awards, report cards and recommendations.
- A display of outstanding commitment to their academic studies as evidenced by referee reports, awards, competitions etc.
The Arts (Music, Drama, Dance, Art (Visual &/or Media) Scholarships are awarded based on:
- A strong demonstration of attendance, effort and behaviour records, as evidenced by awards, reports cards and recommendations.
- A display of outstanding commitment to, and involvement in, Woodridge/their school’s Arts program and/or endeavours in The Arts outside of school.
Sport Scholarships are awarded based on:
- Evidence of excellence in sport, in and/or outside of school programs.
- A strong demonstration of attendance, effort and behaviour records, as evidenced by awards, reports cards and recommendations.
Inclusions
This scholarship is valued at between $250- $500 and for a period of one (1) year only and must be spent within the year for which it is awarded.
Students will need to reapply each year.
The scholarship may be used for a range of items. such as:
- School resources scheme fees.
- Excursions, competition fees, travel expenses.
- Camps
- Uniforms
- Computer devices
- Or other resources to assist with learning, up to the value of the scholarship and as discussed and approved by the Scholarships Committee prior.
