Working with Turner & Townsend

Our LEAP excellence program is changing lives by providing exceptional opportunities for real-world learning. Woodridge State High School is partnering with multinational company Turner & Townsend to provide leadership and management mentoring.

Turner & Townsend have been providing project and engineering solutions for 75 years and currently have operations all over the world. From projects in digital innovation of transport, flood risk management and building construction, they believe in working smarter to face the challenges of the future.

In 2020,  Turner & Townsend had a turnover of over $1.3 billion and 6789 employees. In 2021, students had the opportunity to tour the new state-of-the-art Liveris Building for Chemical Engineering at the University of Queensland (project-managed by Turner & Townsend). Students worked with their mentors to review the sustainability of the build and to problem solve solutions for future builds.

In 2022, 15 of our Year 7-9 students are working with Turner & Townsend mentors to build their leadership capabilities through the lens of STEAM. They are focused on working through a challenge that utilises the company values of “Green, Inclusive and Productive world” to guide their ideas surrounding the Brisbane 2032 Olympics.

To date they have had been exposed to real world application of Engineering, such as the Brisbane Metro currently managed by Turner & Townsend, working closely with engineers, project managers, designers and architects within the company.
