Inclusive Education

Woodridge State High School is proud to be an inclusive community of learners, supporting approximately 1400 students, and 150 staff from 60 cultural backgrounds. Through a multi-tiered system of support the inclusive pedagogy, learning and curriculum (I-PLC) faculty are responsible for ensuring every student receives the right supports and adjustments to be empowered, resilient and world changing. Guided by Education Queensland's Inclusion Policy and the State Schooling Improvement Strategy ‘Equity and Excellence’, every individual at WSHS can access all opportunities on the same basis as their same aged peers. This is supported with reasonable adjustments and teaching strategies tailored to meet their individual needs.

The I-PLC team is made of some of the most knowledgeable staff including Case Managers, Teacher Aides, Speech Language Pathologists, Industry Liasion Officers, Indigenous and First Nations Community Education Counsellors, Pacifica Liasion Officers, Youth Support Coordinators, Art Therapists, General Practicioners, Guidance Officers, Social workers, Chaplains, AVTs as well as representatives from community organisations. We have a whole school shared belief that all students can meet high expectations, when given the right time and support through early, ongoing intervention when essential. We offer a range of differentiated, focused and intensive interventions, tailored to support all our students here at Woodridge State High School.

We are proud to be advocates for the inclusion of all and believe in working closely with the community to shift this shared vision into reality daily. If you’d like to know more, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
